IEC60068 thermal shock environmental test against household appliance
The IEC60068 thermal shock environmental test against home appliances is a test that was developed to evaluate the capacity of a household appliance to withstand unexpected shifts in temperature. The purpose of this test was to determine whether or not the appliance could pass the test. In order to complete the test, the appliance is rapidly moved from a setting where the temperature is high to a setting where the temperature is low and back again. This is done in order to create an environment that is representative of the one in which the appliance will be used or transported in the future. T he purpose of the test is to determine whether or not the household appliance is able to withstand such significant shifts in temperature without experiencing any form of damage, such as cracking, breaking, or becoming unusable.
