What's an oscilloscope? Oscilloscopes, also called Digital Storage Oscilloscopes (DSOs) or Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes (MSOs)
An oscilloscope is a sort of electronic measuring equipment that is used to see and analyze electronic signals. It is also known as a digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) or a mixed signal oscilloscope (MSO). Both of these names refer to the same thing. In order for it to function, it generates what is known as a waveform, which is a graphical depiction of an electrical signal as it changes over time. In a standard configuration, an oscilloscope will include an input channel that is used to connect the electrical signal, a display screen that is used to show the waveform, and a number of controls that are used to change the presentation of the waveform. The waveform display makes it possible for users to see how the voltage of the signal varies over the course of time. This provides users with important information on the behavior of the signal. In addition to displaying waveforms, many modern oscilloscopes are equipped with a variety of sophisticated functionalities, such as automa...
